Sunday Worship

Each Sunday, we meet together as Sojourners Church. Our gathering is a family gathering, and we love to have company join us. Come in comfortable clothes and with an open heart. Come, taste and see that the Lord is good and magnify his name with us (Psalm 34)!

What are your services like?

On a typical Sunday morning, our greeters will welcome you warmly, give you a bulletin, and answer any questions you might have. Grab some coffee, help yourself to a welcome bag, and grab a Bible if you need one.

Our worship service starts at 10am as we sing a song to gather us together. Then, one of the pastors at Sojourners will welcome us, pray for our service, and lead us in reading a call to worship from scripture. After the welcome, we’ll sing another three or four songs filled with God’s truth. We sing a mix of contemporary and traditional songs. Many of our favorites come from Sovereign Grace Music and Getty Music. You can find the most recent worship music set posted here.

After singing together, a member from the congregation reads the sermon text to us and then a pastor preaches a 35 minute message on a text of scripture. After the sermon, we celebrate communion together and respond to the sermon with a brief time of prayer and singing together.

The formal part of our service ends with announcements and a benediction, but many folks like to stick around and visit after service or go eat together. Often, we will also have a potluck meal to eat together and fellowship after the service.

Where do kids go during service?

We are sorry, but we are not currently able to offer staffed nursery during the service. To help parents with small children, we offer two options. First, Parents are welcome to use our nursery facilities across the hall as a restless child room (parental supervision is required). Age appropriate toys as well as audio and video from the service are provided. Second, parents are welcome to keep their children with them in the sanctuary. To help parents who wish to keep their young children with them in the service, we provide a section of the sanctuary with small chairs and table for little ones to sit and color. We also offer busy-bags with a variety of activities. A nursing mothers room with audio and video from the service is also available.

We believe worshipping together as a family is gift and our people are used to kids being kids during the service, so we celebrate and welcome children in our worship service.

Do you have Sunday School?

We have age appropriate Sunday School programming for Pre-K through adult during the school year. We meet together every Sunday before the service from 8:45am – 9:30 am.

Where are you located?

We meet in the Skyline Plaza mall. Our address is 1679 Main Street, Skyline Plaza, Albert Lea, MN 56007. You can drive through the mall parking lot, but the easiest way to find us is to enter the mall parking lot on the south side of the building (off Front Street). If you see Sibley Elementary School across the street, you are on the right side of the mall. Our entrance looks like this:
